we learn about battery car...
at first when we did it wouldn't work because we didn't put the battery in the right place but we found out there was another reason it didn't work because because the elastic band stopped the wheel from moving. and then Mrs bava fixed it at her house.
I enjoyed putting the parts together
I found it hard to putting all the wires in
Next time I will try and find out why it doesn't work.
We learned about technology.....
Smiley face light
first we made a smiley face light we just clicked it on to the battery one thing we learnt about that is that if it wasn't clicked on to the battery it wouldn't work light up I think its because it needs a lot of power in order for it to work when placed on something that's not the battery it wont work .
Fan
when we did the fan it was near the battery and the fan would spin sometimes it would whirl up into the air!
I learnt about technology
I enjoyed working out why the battery was to weak to light up when it wasn't clicked on
I found it hard to find out were we had to put the fan in order for it to work.
Next time I will try to harder
The egg drop
For today's experiment we did the egg drop, to do it you needed: 1 cup filled with water, a flat tray or plate,
1 egg and 1 cardboard toilet roll.
This experiment was about inertia (another word for laziness)
first we had the glass filled with water, we put the plate/or flat tray on top of the cup, next we put the cardboard toilet roll on the plate facing upwards. Then finally we placed the egg gently on top of the cardboard toilet roll.
Then we had to hit the plate on the side and the egg fell into the cup filled with water!
I enjoyed hitting the plate on the side while the egg fell into the water.
I found it hard to aim the egg into the cup.
I found it easy to hitting the plate at the right speed and angle.
Balloon rocket
For this experiment we used: paper straws, balloons, string and tape!
One person went to get the tape, and one person blew the balloon, and one person went to get the straw and the string.
First of all we cut the straw in half and added it to the string, and then we put tape on the balloon so it would stick to the straw. But the balloon wasn't tied so I held it so the air wouldn't go out .
Then I let the balloon go, and it zoomed through the string, all the way to the other side.
I learned about lawtons three laws of motion
I enjoyed letting go of the ballon and watching it zoom through the string
I found it easy to cut the straw the right size
I found it hard to blow the balloon the right size
I enjoyed describing the stream
I found it hard to describe the trees
I found it easy to describe the waterfall
Next time i will add more detail to my writing
Milk explosion
First we had the ingredients which was dairy milk sanitiser a cotton bud and dye
One person went to put sanitiser on the cotton bud then somebody put the milk in the bowl and then we went on the deck and put the dye in the milk and then we dipped the cotton bud in the milk.
And then all the spread away from it wherever we put it!!
I enjoyed putting in the cotton bud
I found it easy to put the right amount of dye
I found it hard make sure we didn't dip the cotton bud to far into the milk
We had to make bath bombs using dye citric acid and salt and some other wet ingredients
First of all we had the mixture in the bowl then we had to mix it then we chose our colouring,then we shaped into a ball and put it in the mould.
This happens because citric acid react to make carbon dioxide bubbles. This is an acid–base reaction, where baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) is a weak base and citric acid is a weak acid.
I found it easy to mix the ingredients
I found it hard to mould it because sometimes it kept falling apart
I enjoyed putting in the dye
Next time I won't put so much dye
we had to make lava lamps using: water,oil,dye and aspirin.
first we put in water then oil but the water and oil don't mix because oil is heavier then oil,then we put in the dye then we put broke the aspirin into little pieces in the glass and it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and created gas.
i think it did that because of the carbon dioxide the gas made the dye start floating
I was learning about making lava lamps
we also learnt some stuff about molecules
I found it easy to adding the water and oil
I enjoyed adding the aspirin
I found it hard to putting the dye in.
